Byredo Black Saffron

Opens with sharp, almost medicinal saffron — metallic and slightly bitter before the leather steps in to ground it. The heart is dense: oud and leather push together with enough weight to feel genuinely dark rather than decorative. Amber softens the edges in the dry-down without sweetening it into approachability, and musk keeps the whole thing close-skinned and smoldering rather than broadcasting. Projection is moderate; sillage lingers as a dry, resinous trail — best worn in cold weather by anyone who wants depth without ornament.
